The overall Objective of the workshop is to agree on new strategies and approaches for the management of fisheries statistics, data and information in the context of the Caribbean Community Common Fisheries Policy; and, to determine preferred modalities for the provision of training and technical assistance in support of these strategies and approaches. The expected outcomes of the meeting are:
(i) Review and discussion of several relevant activities/reports
(ii) Improved understanding of the issues, currently relevant to improving management of fisheries statistics, data and information.
(iii) Agreement on present and emerging fisheries information demands
(iv) Recommended appropriate capacity building options
(v) Suggested modalities for facilitating the agreed capacity building
